Motivation Monday
I really like this motivator from Cheryl Richardson’s latest newsletter.
As you set about making the rest of your life the best of your life, get in the habit of looking for signs of success rather than signs of failure (something we’ve all learned to do far too well).
Looking for what isn’t working is soooooooo 2011.
Instead, take a few moments, every day, to think about (and write down) answers to the following questions:
What’s great about me?
What teeny, tiny thing have I done to improve my life this week?
Where are the signs of positive change that, when noticed, would make me smile?
Early growth is tender and vulnerable and not too easily seen sometimes. Pay attention as you go…

What teeny, tiny thing have I done to improve my life this week?
I have started to practice breathing deeper and slower and with more awareness. By concentrating on the breath we become more self-aware and conscious, more in our bodies and less in our minds, so this is the one small thing I am doing this week to improve my life.
And you?
What teeny, tiny thing will you do to improve your life this week?

I love this! Now that the weather has become more spring like, I am walking to work.

I have a notebook (actually several notebooks) but one of them is the top dog. For this week, I am going to start a weekly list within that notebook. In that way, whatever I choose for each week stays with me and truly gets incorporated into “becoming the change I wish to see” …..
Thanks Marie…

I’m hanging paintings and prints on my apartment walls tonight with a cherished friend as a sign that this is my home, not just a temporary dwelling. I’ll actually be putting nail holes in those pristine stuccoed and painted walls. That’s my small contribution to early growth in my new life. Thanks for the Monday inspirational challenge!

The two biggest things that drains our energy are lack of conscious breathing and tension, so your “small” thing Marie, is actually a very big thing after all!

I just read this and thought it appropriate to this post:
“Dream big but start small. It’s better to do a little bit of something good than to do a whole lot of nothing!”

Thanks for the inspiration (even though I read this on a Tuesday!). I will start a new oil painting or sketch. I’ve been wanting to create some more art for some time now, but have been “too busy” to pamper myself.
