Top 10 Breast Cancer Blogs
What a lovely surprise to come home from my trip to the US and find the JBBC blog listed as one of the Top 10 Breast Cancer Blogs . The list was compiled by Brenda Ray Coffee, founder of Breast Cancer Sisterhood.
I am particularly pleased to be listed among this line-up, as many of the authors of these blogs have become treasured friends, confidants and supporters – a wonderful by-product of the breast cancer blogosphere.
So why did Brenda choose these blogs?
Most breast cancer blogs are personal diaries designed to keep friends and family posted about their progress. While it is comforting to know other women are experiencing the same thing, most offer little tangible, helpful information. Many are depressing, detailing their every ache, pain and fear. The following Top 10 Breast Cancer Blogs are the best of the diaries, memoir, news and patient advocate blogs.
For myself, blogging my way beyond breast cancer has been the most transformative action I could have taken to help me integrate my own personal experience of cancer into my life and make sense of it all. To find that along the way I have become part of a supportive, inspirational, educational and empowering community of breast cancer bloggers has brought me a level of happiness and connection I could never have dreamed of the day I wrote my first blog post.
So, to those of you perhaps considering dipping your toes into the breast cancer blogosphere, I say jump on in – the water sure is lovely, and you will find great company and companionship along the way.

You well deserve your place in that list, particularly as Brenda says, all of these blogs offer great information and that is what makes them so valuable.

Hi Marie,
When TopBlogs.com asked me to compile the rest of this list, without hesitation, your blog had to be there.
Wish you’d been w/me, Jody & Chemobabe at the Life Beyond Cancer Retreat. You could have stopped by on your way back from San Diego. Never have I been to a more empowering, life changing event. There was so much to process, I will be talking about it for months to come. Stop by my blog this week and read about it.
Glad you’re home safe & sound with a little California sunshine.
XOXOXO,
Brenda

I am so looking forward to reading about what you learned at the conference. I caught some of the excitement and sense of empowerment in your tweets, so I can only imagine what it must have been like to participate fully in it.

I’ve been reading some old posts and came across this one. Congratulations, Marie! You absolutely deserve this award! I’m pretty new to the blogosphere, but already I’ve made so many friends along the way, including many of the top ten bloggers like you. I find myself nodding my head at so many of these inspirational writings of soul sistahs. Brenda’s criteria for inclusion of blogs in this prestigious list were absolutely spot on. Despite the fierce competition you made the cut. Brava!
XOXOXO,
Jan

Aw thanks Jan. I am passionate about this blog and I really want to build up a community of like minded sistas around it. I have learned so much and gotten to know inspirational bloggers over the past two years from setting up and writing Journeying Beyond and I get such a kick of watching new blogs come online and begin to grow and flourish.
