Whether we like it or not our kids are silent observers that wave the pink ribbon… I loved doing this video with my friend and the lyrics behind it highlight the hidden torment of having breast cancer or any illness whilst trying to be strong..

Thank you Marie and thanks again for the opportunity to share a post. I often wonder which of my perspectives on cancer are the most interesting; my time as a patient or when I was an Oncology nurse at the Royal Marsden or more recently during my time working for Pharma.

Oh Dee, I cannot begin to tell you how much reading your words has meant to me. This is my story too. I went through a period of writing about it on one of my blogs – but it got too painful to keep going. I live with this pain every day but it is a pain I am learning to keep inside more and more. No one understands the depths of despair that infertility brings except those of us who are living through it. Thank you for sharing your story so honestly and helping others know we are not alone in our sadness.

This has been difficult for me! The blog has covered such a diverse range of topics, as the year has lurched from challenge to adventure, and reflection to observation. Finally, I have opted for the discussion around trust and the online world “In trust we blog”. There were some great comments there too, including a discussion around “gobsmacked”!!

It is seven years since I finished treatment for breast cancer Yvonne, and I still have a terrible needle phobia.. I dread having to get blood taken – I suppose it’s no surprise really when you think what our poor veins have been through!

Thanks so much for sharing your story. I was in tears reading the quote at the end. My beloved mother died from brain cancer, which was missed by the doctors, and by the time it was diagnosed it was too late to treat her. It is a year since she died and I still feel her loss as acutely and grieve for her everyday.

This was my bravest blog and received amazing feedback from women who reckoned it was one of the most informative they have received about breast cancer as it was real and had real images not just cartoon like images of people checking their breasts.
