Motivation Monday
Breath awareness moves us into the here and now.
It quickly transforms attitudes and shifts the mind to a transcendent place.
By concentrating on the breath we become more self-aware and conscious, more in our bodies and less in our minds.
We’re more able to control actions and reactions.
Breathe in peace and light.
Exhale tensions and anxieties.
Let the ribcage expand.
Fill the top, middle and bottom of the lungs until the belly pushes out.
You may want to coordinate breathing with movement like in tai chi or try a slow, conscious walk across the floor or in a garden that brings the breath in rhythm with each step.

A lovely reminder to me this morning to stop for a moment and just take a breath

Deep breathing also eliminates toxins in your body. The action of your diaphragm in deep breathing massages your inner organs and stimulates lymphatic flow, much like the way your heart pumps blood through your body, so another reason to practise mindful deep breathing!

Wonderful! I do something similar when my mind is racing. I listen to the sound of my own breath and it helps me fall asleep.
