Pink Auction

Ready for the Galway Races. This wonderful hat by Karen Flannery will be part of the Pink Auction

It is getting closer to Ireland’s first ever Pink Auction, which takes place on Sunday, October 10 at Cork’s The Imperial Hotel. Irish artists from across the Republic and beyond created dozens of hand-crafted textile items for the live auction.

The Pink Auction brings together supporters from all across the country who understand the importance of encouraging hand-crafted textile arts and of supporting breast cancer programmes, particularly Action Breast Cancer, a programme of the Irish Cancer Society. Notable Irish textile artists, including Karen Flannery, Máire Keogh, and Angelika Rauch, have donated their time and talents to create high-quality, unique items that will be up for bid. Creative textile art includes: crochet, knitting, lace, quilting, weaving, felting, batik, textile jewellery.

The Pink Auction is free to attend. Pink ribbons will be for sale at the event. All proceeds from the sale of the pink ribbons and auction items go to Action Breast Cancer. For more information on the Pink Auction event, contact: Evin O’Keeffe at PinkCork@gmail.com; Julie Anne Carleton at 086- 3315802; or http://pinkcork.blogpost.com.
