Breast cancer survivor makes it to number 1

Limerick breast cancer survivor, Julie-Anne Dineen,  has reached number one this week, knocking U2 off the top of the Irish single charts.  The song, ‘Do You Believe’  was recorded in aid of the Symptomatic Breast Cancer Care Unit in the Mid-West Regional Hospital.
Julie-Anne will finish her cancer treatment on the same day that the single will be announced as number one. She recorded the song – written by Philip Scanlon – a day after her second course of chemotherapy for breast cancer, in a bid to show other women there is life after battling the disease.  Julie-Anne has been touring around to schools in the city and county to try and raise awareness about Breast Cancer, and has been delighted with the response.
“The support of Limerick people has been phenomenal, this is a part of Limerick that the rest of Ireland never sees. Let me repeat – every single penny raised from this is going to the Breast Cancer Unit in the Regional and to Professor Gupta and his staff.” said Julie-Anne.
