Weekly Round-Up: The Year End Edition

Welcome dear readers to the last blog of 2024.

In this ‘twixmas’ lull, Carolyn yearns for solitude after the whirlwind of holiday festivities, highlighting the importance of scheduling ‘me-time’ as a vital appointment.

Connie shares cherished Christmas memories with her grandsons, underscoring the importance of savoring these precious moments as life continually evolves.

Let Life Happen is launching a new section titled “Share Your Story” to provide a platform for anyone impacted by breast cancer to share their personal experiences. This includes patients, caregivers, family members, friends, and even children affected by a parent or grandparent’s diagnosis.

Beth‘s latest Substack explores the theme of artistic competition, emphasizing the importance of prioritising personal fulfillment and the joy of the creative process over external validation. She also introduces us to her daughter’s art, proving the apple didn’t fall far from that artistic tree!

Gabby advocates for reflective journaling as a valuable tool for personal growth and year-end reflection. She provides practical guidance on how to begin reflective journaling, suggesting prompts to guide the process and emphasizing the importance of creating a dedicated space and time for this practice.

The start of a new year always feels like a time for fresh beginnings. Next February marks 16 years since I started Journeying Beyond, and while I still love curating the weekly round-up, truthfully it’s the sole reason I maintain this blog. So Inspired by Beth (and Nancy’s) successful Substack ventures, I’ve decided to launch my own! I’m thrilled to introduce The Patient Voice Collective, a platform where our voices can unite, be amplified, and advocate for a healthcare system that truly centers on patient needs.

I hope this new venture will allow me to reignite my creative expression and explore new avenues for patient advocacy. I sincerely hope you’ll join me on the next stage of my journey!

Until next week,

Yours in love and light,

Marie xxx
