Weekly Round-Up

Time for this week’s round-up of the best of the blog posts which I’ve rad over the past week. These are the posts that have moved me, taught me something, inspired me, and which I’ve wanted to share with you. Don’t forget if you have written a post which you would like readers to see, just leave a comment below.
With Christmas Day less than a fortnight away, Becky has some tips on catering for a loved one with celiac.
Barbara’s wish for all this holiday season is the gift of time.
Nancy shares 8 tips for dealing with the loss of a pet.
The focus of OurMBCLife‘s latest Road to a Cure podcast is drug resistance, clinical trials, and the possibility of a cure.
Abigail reports back from her attendance at the annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium.
Superb post from Carolyn which deals with medical misdiagnosis and patient empowerment.
Men are often discouraged by society from openly sharing their emotions. Gogs explains why lessons from childhood around how men should behave prevented him from finding support for his mental health.
Connie reflects on a year of waiting.
Finally this week, another sad loss for our community with the passing of Kristie. What a terribly hard few weeks it has been, first Ilene and now Kristie.
Sending love and light to all who are grieving this season.

Thank you Marie for sharing this week’s Roundup choices with us, and especially for including my post on patients who are now being asked to do the ‘heavy lifting’ to prevent being misdiagnosed. I was stunned by some of the reader comments coming in, responding to this ‘patient resource’ that suggests we patients must “be ‘part of the solution to misdiagnosis in women” (implying that, if we aren’t or can’t be part of the solution, we must be part of the PROBLEM!)
Last time I checked, patients are not the ones doing the misdiagnosing….
Take care, stay safe. . . ♥
