Where would you go to today if you could? #PretendToBeATimeTravelerDay

When I teach social media classes, one of the things I suggest to students who are struggling to come up with ideas for what to write about on their blogs or post on their social channels, is to check out what’s trending on Twitter for inspiration.

So today I am taking my own advice because I see that today is #PretendToBeATimeTravelerDay.

I would SO love this magical power – wouldn’t you?

I would use it to go back in time to a day when my mother was alive – any ordinary day would do. A day that I could sit with her at the kitchen table over a cup of tea and do the crossword together. She loved crosswords. After dinner, we would sit side by side drinking tea and eating something wonderful she had baked fresh out of the oven, and work out the crossword clues together.

I would drink her in with my eyes, smell the scent that was so uniquely her, hear her voice again – I’ve forgotten how her voice sounded, but I remember how she called me “my darlin’ girl.”

So many memories, so many ordinary days I would give anything to relieve again.

How about you? If you could be a time traveler today, would you go back in time? Or forward to a future day?
