I AM going to remember this Mary Oliver quote! “I hardly move though really I’m traveling a terrific distance. stillness. one of the doors into the temple.” oh, how I long for stillness, and a place in the temple. I have actually thought of getting myself to a nunnery – the emotions and thoughts so jumbled and twisted I sometimes think I will go stark raving mad. there are land mines and pitfalls in this journey of cancer and widowhood – a quiet pew and contemplative cell seems a safe place to land for awhile. sigh.
Karen, it’s a tough road you are on. I wish I could do something more than send you loving thoughts today. but those you have in abundance from me. xxxx
". . .and the world cannot be discovered by a journey of miles, no matter how long, but only by a spiritual journey, a journey of one inch, very arduous and humbling and JOYFUL, by which we arrive at the ground at our own feet, and learn to be at home."
Wendell Berry
