Marie, the quote has never resonated with me more so than in these days of constantly having to remind myself to take on courage – not to fight huge war-like battles, just to wage the will to ask myself, sometimes even minute by minute or perhaps hourly – am I safe? am I okay? can I feel content? – right here, right now? the painting is beautiful, and maybe if I can etch it across my mind, it will help me remember the value of taking stock when all is so overwhelming. thank you for an excellent Monday Motivation!
So good to hear from all of you and that this quote resonated with you. It also reminds me of the quote on courage by Mary Ann Radmacher – “Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I’ll try again tomorrow.”
". . .and the world cannot be discovered by a journey of miles, no matter how long, but only by a spiritual journey, a journey of one inch, very arduous and humbling and JOYFUL, by which we arrive at the ground at our own feet, and learn to be at home."
Wendell Berry
