One thing I suspect is that there are no easy roads. If that’s true, then I’d rather work really hard at what I love, than work really hard at what I don’t. ~Catherine
For the last 15 years, I’ve worked very hard at both. I attained some things in the publishing world that many never do, for which I’m grateful, and while working in a law office at the same time. In reality, it’s very hard and takes a lot of persistence, patience, and resilience to get back up every time you get your teeth kicked in. And with all that, the only real choice is to follow your heart, even if the road is steep.
". . .and the world cannot be discovered by a journey of miles, no matter how long, but only by a spiritual journey, a journey of one inch, very arduous and humbling and JOYFUL, by which we arrive at the ground at our own feet, and learn to be at home."
Wendell Berry
A timely reminder! Thank you Marie. x
