Health Activist Writer’s Month Challenge Day 11 #HAWMC
Day 11 of the WEGO Health Activist Writer’s Month which I have signed up for – a month dedicated to the art of writing about health. Today’s prompt is to write about your favorite social network.
For me, it’s got to be Twitter. Last month, I wrote a post on 7 reasons why I love Twitter and I’d like to share those reasons again for today’s exercise.
1. I first met so many of you reading this right now on Twitter #top #reason
2. Tweet Chats #BCSM #BCCEU #HCSMCA
3. It’s great for my insomnia! There’s always someone to talk to 24/7
4. Twitter keeps me plugged into the latest health research
5. I can connect directly with global advocates and healthcare professionals
6. It’s a twitterific learning tool
7. Great way to crowdsource opinions and mobilize action
So there you have it 7 reasons why I love Twitter. It is my number one social media networking platform and since joining it in 2008, my love affair with Twitter has grown alongside my list of friends from all over the world.
Great minds! Love your line “twitterific”!!! 🙂

It’s interesting that you chose Twitter. I agree with you in that choice. In terms of meeting new people, hearing breaking news, finding new bloggers & sampling the world, Twitter wins 🙂 ~ Catherine

I love the way you describe Twitter Catherine! I think I might just have to borrow those words for a presentation I am giving next week on nurses using twitter 😉

The only thing I don’t like about Twitter is how time can so easily get away from me! I love the connections one can make there too. I don’t dare do it in the middle of the night when I sometimes wake up. I fear if I start doing that, it might become a nightly thing…

Only good thing about the middle of the night for me is that you all are still awake in the US so I can catch up with your convos 🙂

Marie, great reasons to love Twitter! I love it as well, but I can’t keep up with all the news as I would love to. I love our Twitter chats.

I admit, I’m lost as to the appeal of Twitter. i find it a confusing stream of voices, like being in the middle of a huge room where everyone is shouting at once. Maybe I haven’t learned how to properly take advantage of it. I’ll give it another try … some day.
