Look beyond the external

The class was asked, “What color are apples?” “Red. Yellow. Green,” they responded enthusiastically. One boy sat silent. “Yes, Johnny?” “I think they are white,” he told the teacher. She scolded him, “Everyone knows apples are red or yellow or green.” “Not when you look on the inside,” he said.

Today, I …will pause. . .and look beyond the exterior . .to see what’s on the inside. . .and maybe, just maybe, find beauty there.
