JBBC finalist in the Irish Blog Awards

The list of finalists in the Irish Blog Awards was announced on Friday and I am thrilled, delighted and tickled pink to be a finalist in the Specialist Blog category, sponsored by IQ Content. What a great way to celebrate my first year of blogging!

A great big thank you to each and every one of you who took the time to nominate the JBBC blog. I know it sounds like a cliché, but I truly do write this blog with you in mind. Many of you have become dear friends and have enriched more than just my blogging. Thank you also to all my guest bloggers over the past year for bringing a new perspective and a fresh new voice on here.

I really welcome this opportunity to spread the message of breast cancer awareness and support to a wider community. As those of you who regularly read this blog know, a terrific community of cancer survivors has emerged from here. And it’s not just cancer survivors. Many regular readers have no direct experience of cancer, but they share the same desire to live an authentic life. There is strength and support to be found in online communities of like-minded people and we have already started to build a wonderful community on the Journeying Beyond Breast Cancer group page on Facebook. (If you haven’t already done so, please check it out  by clicking here ).

It is great to see recognition for so many fantastic Irish blogs and congratulations to all the nominees and finalists.  A lot of work goes into these awards so a big thank you to all the judges, and to Damien Mulley and his team for organising this event. Looking forward to meeting up with some old friends and new at the ceremony this Saturday in Galway.
