Breast Cancer Awareness Body Painting Project

There are so many breast cancer fundraising and awareness raising projects out there, but here’s one that was brought to my attention recently, which I find very arresting – a fine art and photography essay of breast cancer survivors. If you check the website, you will see some really rather beautiful images of  breast cancer survivors, like the one above featuring Pamela Embury with my favorite motif Journey.

Profits from the sales of related merchandise on the site benefit The Kristy Lasch Miracle Foundation. The foundation helps women under the age of 30 with medical related expenses who are undergoing treatment for breast cancer.  It was set up in memory of Kristy, a beautiful young woman, who passed away at the tender age of 26 after a breast cancer diagnosis four years previously.

The project currently has an open call to survivors who may be interested in participating (email  BCABPP@uncommonstock.net for more information) and you can check out the full range of images on the website http://www.cafepress.com/BCABPP.
