Cancer Warrior Coalition is creating a powerful unified collaboration of citizens and organizational entities to pool resources, talent, information, research and efforts in order to effect necessary change in the way we discover, perceive, treat and cure the common threat of cancer. You can read all about their ethos and the work they do on their website
On the website you can view a gallery of “cancer warriors” and add your own picture and rallying cry to the wall. I did and I can tell you how empowering and uplifting it is to see my face among all those survivors, advocates, and cancer warriors. It is a feeling of community, a feeling of empowerment and a feeling of hope. Check it out yourself and become a cancer warrior today!

After 3 years, I still don’t feel like the “strong, fightin’ mad warrior who fought off cancer”, I felt like I was carried through the process and got so many gifts along the way and that so many others had a much more difficult experience…that they’re the ones who deserve to be called warriors…
