A tribute to loved ones

At the LiveStrong Global Cancer Summit taking place this week in Dublin, there is a touching “tribute wall” where delegates can post the names of those friends and loved ones who have been affected by cancer. As you can imagine, the wall filled up with names very quickly. It was an emotional feeling to stand in front of the wall and read those names of much beloved people who are fighting or have fought the battle against cancer, many of whom sadly are no longer with us.
The wall is positioned as you enter the conference, so it is an emotive reminder of our reason for being here at this historic Summit. Now is the moment to demand more time, energy, and resources to fight for a cancer-free world. Today at the RDS, the stark fact that by 2015, one in two will be diagnosed with cancer, was presented to delegates. That is a staggering number.
Today the World Cancer Declaration was presented at the Summit. Now you can do your part. Will you sign and share the Declaration with your friends and family to bring the goal of a world without cancer a step closer?
Thanks Marie! We signed!
