ER star undergoes surgery for breast tumor

Actress Maura Tierney, best known for her role in medical drama, ER, will undergo surgery for a breast tumor
A real life medical drama has hit actress Maura Tierney, best know for her long-running role as Abby Lockhart, in TV medical drama ER.
Tierney, who is of Irish descent, says she’s having surgery to remove a tumor in her breast. I will not know either my exact diagnosis or course of treatment until that surgery is performed,” the actress, 44, said in a statement.
The actress, has long been a supporter of breast-cancer awareness from way back. In 2005, she joined her fellow ER doctors in Ford Motor Co.’s “Tied to the Cause” ad campaign.
Why will you say she has breast cancer when she doesnt not know her diagnosis yet???

Ingrid, don’t be so picky – of course she has breast cancer – it;s pretty obvious to us all

Both of you are wrong. It is possible to have a breast tumor or lump that is not cancer. It is now known that Maura does have breast cancer, but at the time this message was posted, maybe she didn’t know. I had breast cancer myself, 20 years ago and I’m well. My best to Maura in her struggle.
