Fashion Targets Breast Cancer



The Fashion Targets Breast Cancer campaign 2009 is now underway. This year, Brown Thomas has teamed up with internationally renowned British designer Paul Smith to create a global exclusive for the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer Ireland Campaign. 

This bright multi-coloured canvas tote depicting “Love Paul Smith” will be available in Brown Thomas and BT2 stores across Ireland from next Thursday, May 7th.  All proceeds raised will go to Action Breast Cancer (a programme of the Irish Cancer Society) and Europa Donna Ireland (raising awareness of breast cancer issues in Ireland). 

Speaking about the campaign, Paul Smith commented, “I am privileged to be part of this great cause. I hope this project continues to raise awareness for Fashion Targets Breast Cancer and people enjoy the bag!”

Now in its fifth year, the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer campaign has gone from strength to strength in Ireland through the sale of the bull’s eye target t-shirts and last year’s hugely successful Diane von Furstenberg tote bag.  For the 2009 campaign Brown Thomas approached celebrated designer Paul Smith to design a bag which would appeal to women of all ages. The resulting limited edition bag reflects this season’s bright colours and Paul Smith’s signature design style, whilst cleverly incorporating the distinctive FTBC bull’s eye target logo. In addition, for the first time in this campaign, Paul Smith has also designed a world exclusive Fashion Targets Breast Cancer men’s t-shirt, to highlight awareness for breast cancer amongst men.
