Weekly Round-Up
Time for this week’s round-up of the best of the blog posts which I’ve read over the past week. These are the posts that have moved me, taught me something, inspired me, and which I’ve wanted to share with you. Don’t forget if you have written a post which you would like readers to see, just leave a comment below.
Nancy’s summer blog hop challenge continues with Wendi, Claudia, jumping in this week.
Renza captures the burn-out of constant traveling, speaking and conferencing in her latest post (see also this article which was crowdsourced from the patient advocacy community on beating burnout).
Earlier this week, the United States Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF) released an updated recommendation for genetic testing for BRCA 1 and 2 mutations. Dr Attai delves into the science.
Great post on dating with cancer from Megsie.
Good advice from Carolyn to choose carefully the people you decide to confide in about illness.
A reminder from Nancy Siebel that we can make a big difference for ourselves and others by aligning what we do with how we are – living out our beliefs, values and attitudes.
And from Connie, an invitation to cultivate more pleasure in life.
Abigail shares her experience of starting Piqray and Faslodex treatment.
Such a nostalgic post from Julia this week – a step back in time to a world before instant communication and our always-on culture.
Janet is enjoying vacation time.
Barbara attempts to answer the question of why a person gets breast cancer.
Finally this week, I leave you with a writing prompt. Feel free to write about it (or share a picture) on your blog, or simply leave a comment below.
Until next week,
Yours with much love always,
Marie xxx

My current theme song would be “homeward bound” but it changes almost daily. What’s yours.

I now have that song in my head Ilene 😉 Mine changes a lot too depending on what’s going on in my life. I remember when I was going through breast cancer treatment LeeAnn Womack’s I hope you dance was playing a lot on the airwaves and while it wouldn’t normally be a song I’d particularly like. something about it gave me a sense of hope and joy at a dark time

Herein describes the reason for my post – I am always grateful for your inclusion of my posts in your roundup. Do you agree the quality of the content coming from our community, though mostly written on tablets of pain, has improved significantly in the past 12 months or so? I’m humbled for your inclusion of my blog amongst the writers here. The depth and breadth of topics, inspiration, and wealth of knowledge has always been good – I think this week is really a time when the community is really hitting its stride. Thank you for reading and thank you for writing for us to increase our readership and in some cases introduce us to one another. If not for you I’d not have so many people I consider supportive friends.❤️
