Health Activist Writer’s Month Challenge Day Three #HAWMC
Day three of the WEGO Health Activist Writer’s Month which I have signed up for – a month dedicated to the art of writing about health.
Today is Superpower Day
If you had a superpower – what would it be? How would you use it?
I don’t even have to hesitate when thinking of the answer to this one. I wish I could teleport myself. I decided to google the term to make sure I was using the right one – I usually just say I wish I could snap my fingers and be someplace I am longing to be – and I discovered that there is a Superpower Wiki. So, if anyone is struggling to come up with a superpower for their HAWC challenge today, here’s an entire list to choose from!
So, back to teleportation, a superpower in “which one can instantaneously move from one location to another without physically occupying the space in between”.I would teleport myself into the future and find a cure for cancer and bring it right back to the present.
But, even superheroes can use their superpowers for fun can’t they? I am imagining being able to do this right now and all the places I could visit. I would use my superpower to transport myself to the side of those bloggers I have met online and would love to meet in real life – those that live inconveniently far away from me. I would just pop over for a cuppa and a chat and be back in time for dinner in Ireland – no jet lag, no airports, no TSA hassle, no hotel bedrooms…sigh! it would be perfect.
And then I began to wonder, could I also use this superpower to go back in time? Because if I could, I know exactly where I’d want to go…. back to any of the many ordinary days when I could sit in my mother’s kitchen, drinking tea and helping her with her crossword; back to a day when I could hear her gentle voice, kiss her soft, warm cheeks, hear her laugh, feel her love again. For that superpower, I would give up a lot right now.
