World Cancer Day 2011
Today is World Cancer Day – a day set aside to raise awareness for a disease that causes millions of deaths every year, many of which could have been prevented.
The following is taken from the World Cancer Day website:
More than ever before there is a need for a concerted and coordinated fight against cancer, and we believe that World Cancer Day can play its part by providing an even bigger platform for your cancer messages.
We have our hopes set high: 2011 promises to be an important year with the UN Summit on Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) taking place in September.
If you would like to support our efforts, you will find all the information you need on this website: get informed, learn how to eliminate your own personal risk factors, sign our declaration and help spread the word. It might save a life.

The Dominica Cancer Society Inc. would like to express solidarity, on this significant occassion.
