LIVESTRONG Global Cancer Summit Starts

I spent this morning at a volunteer induction session for the LIVESTRONG Global Cancer Summit which starts tomorrow at the RDS, Dublin. It was a terrific introduction to the work of the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Their global commitment to the fight against cancer is so inspiring and it is wonderful to be a part of this movement.
The Summit will bring together world leaders, non-governmental organizations, corporate leaders and individuals who are making new commitments to cancer control. Commitments are critical to avoid a looming public health catastrophe. It is estimated that cancer will be the leading cause of death worldwide by 2010. The secondary purpose of the Summit is to build a global grassroots advocacy movement to influence global action in the fight against cancer.
The good news is that you can follow events live from the Summit via CNN.com Live, the Internet’s only live multi-stream video news service. They will stream a roundtable of global cancer experts, advocates and researchers live from the LIVESTRONG Global Cancer Summit in Dublin on Sunday, August 23 at 3 p.m. GMT, 4 p.m. BST or 11 a.m. ET.
Led by CNN’s chief medical correspondent and host of Vital Signs Dr. Sanjay Gupta, ‘Vital Signs: The Clinic’ will provide a candid look at the latest treatments in the fight against cancer, as well as answer questions from CNN.com users around the world.
During the live webcast, CNN.com’s users will have the opportunity to present questions to the expert panel through Dr. Gupta. Between now and the live webcast, CNN wants you to take part in the conversation via:
