Rosemary, Lavender and Sweet Basil Body Scrub

lavender

Being a bit of a cosmetics junkie, I have fallen off the wagon a few times, in my efforts to reduce the amount of chemicals I put on my face and body. Yes, I have had a few falls, but I am determined to get back on the right road and so here is a recipe for a sweet smelling and effective body scrub, which you can use in the bath and shower after cleansing your body. Apply in circular motions towards the heart, avoiding the face and any other delicate areas, (or cuts or wounds). Rinse off with warm water to reveal beautifully smooth and moisturized skin, without any need for chemicals.

  • 75 g finely found rollede oats
  • 100 ml sweet almond oil (or olive oil, but the almond smells lovely)
  • 1/4 cup fresh rosemary
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaes
  • 1/4 cup lavender flowers

Now that you have gathered all your ingredients together here is how you make your scrub

  • Grind the rolled oats in a blender or coffee grinder until they become a fine texture and place in a glass container with a tight fitting lid
  • Finely chop the rosemary, basil and lavender and place in the jar with the oats
  • Add the sea salts and stir until ingredients are well mixed
  • Pour the almond oil on top of the mixture and wait for 1 minute. Now stir again.

Note: For best results keep in the fridge for 4-5 days while the herbs infuse
