Weekly Round-Up

Time for this week’s round-up of the best of the blog posts which I’ve read over the past week. These posts have moved me, taught me something, inspired me, and I’ve wanted to share them with you. Don’t forget if you have written a post that you would like readers to see, just leave a comment below.

It’s ASCO this week and OurMBCLife is broadcasting live from the conference.

For US readers, Nancy shares some tips for appealing a Medicare decision to deny coverage, particularly in relation to DIEP flap breast reconstruction.

Did you learn about CPR from TV shows like Grey’s Anatomy? asks Carolyn this week.

After her daughter was diagnosed with cancer, Debbie began to share her experiences through writing, and through that found camaraderie — and heartbreak.

Steve discusses how he eventually gained confidence before cancer scans.

Barbara is going with the flow.

A tough read from Sarah this week as she shares a medical update.

Although things are tough for Megsie, I do love the phrase “pockets of joy” she uses in her latest post.

An advocacy update from Abigail – who, as usual, has been packing a lot into her busy schedule!

Jennifer details her experience of writing her cancer memoir.

Finally this week, it’s Cancer Survivor’s Day today – a day I know can evoke a lot of mixed feelings. Let’s acknowledge the complexities of emotions that surround this day; whether it’s a day to celebrate as it is for Terri, or a day to feel sadness, confusion, or a sense of loss at all that cancer has taken from us. Each person’s experience with cancer is unique, and it’s crucial to honor and respect whatever emotions someone may be experiencing today.

Until next week,

Yours with much love always
