Mindful Monday
Today I’m flying low and I’m
not saying a word.
I’m letting all the voodoos of ambition sleep.
The world goes on as it must,
the bees in the garden rumbling a little,
the fish leaping, the gnats getting eaten.
And so forth.
But I’m taking the day off.
Quiet as a feather.
I hardly move though really I’m traveling
a terrific distance.
Stillness. One of the doors
into the temple.
Mary Oliver
I love this passage by Mary Oliver. The photo is gorgeous too. Is it from your Australian adventures?

I love this! And it’s ever so timely for me; I’m eager to get back to normal post-surgery, yet my body says not yet. Thanks for the reminder to fly low today.

A poem I should emulate.

“letting the voodoos of ambition sleep”. What a wonderful image! And the poem ends so beautifully, too. Thanks so much for introducing this poet to me. I really enjoyed the poems you have shared.
