Please read how IVF medications led to my breast cancer and how a breast cancer study using genetic testing to check estrogen metabolism is saving my life.
Please share my story with all women who have used or are considering IVF, HRT and anyone with estrogen positive breast cancer.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I am a new cancer survivor and am struggling with post cancer treatment depression right now. I have one more surgery left before I can say I am done with all treatment but does it really ever end?
I make and sell jewelry and have to say that my jewelry and customers kept me going through out this whole process. They helped me survive it! I sell a full line of cancer awareness jewelry so please stop by.
Again thank you for putting into words what many of us are going through but don’t have the talent to share.
Hugs,
Karen
Thank you Karen for contacting us and for sharing the link to your jewellery making. Wishing you lots of good health and happiness as you continue your journey beyond cancer.
I stumbled upon the blog through Facebook via Chemobabe as it caught my attention. A topic about the unseen internet cancer community caught my eye as this has become a main supporting force for me. I am a young breast cancer survivor new to the community. Though breast cancer is too prevalent (one is too many in my opinion) as seen in the crowds at those walks, I often feel alone as a breast cancer survivor with young children instead of grandchildren. I was diagnosed in my 30s and after 2 years in treatment, I still face many tough issues. I found catharsis in writing as I have before, but since my diagnosis, I found that keeping a blog was especially healing. I have “met” so many people online with common experiences and ideas. Thank you for your blog and messages of hope.
I was 19 when i was diagnosed with Melinoma to my spine, which required skin grafts to cover the whole in my back. At 28 I was diagnosed with Breast cancer and by the age off 30 I had a bilateral Mastectomy which ended my marriage as he moved into the other room.I stayed for ten years to raise my children then promised my dieing mother of lung cancer I would would leave him and enjoy what life i have left.I have found love in my life, something i thought i would never do so dont give up HOPE as there is LIFE and LOVE after CANCER I am now 50 and happy and I know If my mum was alive she would be the happiest women in the world to see me HAPPY
Kathleen, thank you so much for sharing your story of hope with us – I really appreciate you taking the time to do this. Continued, happiness and health to you. Marie
HI Marie, Just wanted to let you know I have tried to post many messages (some of them winded though much thought out) that have not been posted. Probably minor quirky things that need to be worked around that I don’t have the savvy to pick up on how to resolve. But I have been present … just wanted you to know and also I have found this recent thread on **%$_ things people say so very close to my heart. Am finding comfort in folks’ responses.
Rachel, I am so sorry this has been happening – i am no techie myself, so all I can do is apologize and say I will keep an eye on the situation. I appreciate your support so very much x
No problem, Marie. This is not to complain; I just wanted you to know I have been present (well sometimes). It could be a combination of my quirky Mac, the internet, and maybe more than anything ME. Enjoy the weekend.

Hi Marie,
Seems so long since we spoke or email. I’ve sent emails to Dublin, but not sure if you see them. Are you still there? I hope you have a wonderful birthday week next week! 🙂 Hope your Dad is well. I have a friend that may need your help with a blog, I included you on an email reply to her this morning, from my work email to your old ucd email. I believe she needs a blog to see if anyone out there can help her with her special needs child since birth. Hugs, Love and Miss you very much! xoxo Cathy
Hi there! Love the blog and think it’s very inspiring. I got your name of the list of winners for the blog awards. I wasn’t able to make it on the night but am still trying to build up a network of like minded bloggers. Just to know we’re not blogging into some sort of great void. Anyway if you’re interested I was a winner in the humour section and you can find my blog at http://alvycarragher.blogspot.ie/ I’ll be following along from now on. Best of luck with it 🙂
Thank you for this blog. I’ve been inspired to start my own and would be honored if you would check it out. http://www.youngandcancerous.com. Thanks again for this wonderful resource!
Hi Lisa. Welcome to the blogosphere. Thanks for letting us know about your blog. I am looking forward to reading it. I have added it to this list of breast cancer blogs
I am writing to pass on details of an interview series I am organising which starts Sept 22nd.
It’s called Healthy and Powerfully Feminine and I am interviewing 10 women with unique experiences and expertise in this area. I thought it would definitely interest your audience.
I myself had breast cancer and I am also interviewing Susan Gonzalez, a nurse, certified in plant-based nutrition, and a stage III breast cancer survivor. She advocates for health and wellness with a focus on cancer prevention and the use of holistic healing for cancer survival. She has an Amazon best-selling book, “100 Perks of Having Cancer plus 100 Health Tips for Surviving It”, and an award winning blog, “The Savvy Sister: Simple changes for healthy living”, providing valuable tools for those wishing to live a happy and healthy life.
Plus many more wonderful women talking about health from not only a physical but also emotional level. More details can be found here http://www.healthyandpowerfullyfeminine.com and I would so appreciate it if your community could be passed on the information.
If you need more information or promotional material, please ask me.
Also, I am doing a survey on Life After Breast Cancer for women whose treatment has finished.
Are you able to pass on this link to your community? It’s just a five-minute survey :
Hello Marie, I’m glad I found your blog today. I volunteer with The Healing and Cancer Foundation http://www.healingandcancer.org. So many people and their lives are touched by cancer. My husband died from brain cancer in 2007. You touch on so many real topics. It’s helpful to read about them. I have MS and know that living with a chronic illness requires huge emotional & physical resources. I write my own blog: http://www.mstakesme.com. I look forward to reading and learning from your blog.
Hello Rita – it’s lovely to hear from you. I am so sorry to hear about your husband’s death – my own mother died from brain cancer and I know what a devastating disease it is.
Hi Marie, My name is Lisa Lurie. I am a breast cancer survivor and the co-founder of Cancer Be Glammed. I launched Cancer Be Glammed to prepare women facing all forms of cancer for the
devastating body-altering, appearance-related side effects of surgery and treatment, and to enable them to recover with dignity, self-esteem, and personal style. On my website, http://www.cancerbeglammed.com, I write recovery and lifestyle blogs to help women cope with hair loss, weight gain/loss, skin challenges, dressing issues following surgery and more. We cover from diagnosis through survivorship.
Please consider adding some of my blogs to your terrific weekly round-up. I hope they will help other women struggling with breast cancer find practical solutions and advice that will allow them to reclaim their sense-of-self. Like you, I believe sharing our experiences and wisdom with each other is so valuable.
Thank you for all that you do to better the lives of women and men with breast cancer.
Best,
Lisa Lurie
