Weekly Round-Up
Time for this week’s round-up of the best of the blog posts which I’ve read over the past week. These are the posts that have moved me, taught me something, inspired me, and which I’ve wanted to share with you. Don’t forget if you have written a post which you would like readers to see, just leave a comment below.
A recent news article has called attention to an ongoing clinical trial, which is evaluating whether certain patients can avoid surgery for breast cancer. The article has raised many questions, so with the help of the trial principal investigator, surgical oncologist Dr. Henry Kuerer from M.D. Anderson, Dr Attai provides some clarification on her blog this week.
Audrey is preparing for her upcoming mastectomy surgery in her latest post.
Question: How do you choose a protein supplement? Answer: you look to Cathy for advice.
I had a visceral reaction to Sarah’s post on injections – I know how hard that is when you are vein-comprised!
A poignant post from Janet as she experiences sadness for all her old self had to go through over the last nine months of breast cancer treatment.
I wish that the person I was then didn’t have to go through what she went through, but I’m so proud of her that she did and lived to tell the tale, and I’m glad I can afford to shed a few tears for her now.
If you have a family member or friend who is of the opinion that you should stop getting mammograms at a “certain age”, please do her a favor and give her the information in Barbara‘s latest post.
Margaret is half-way through her first month without Tamoxifen.
Sarah shares a heartfelt poem in memory of her friend Jo who died from metastatic breast cancer.
Information on choosing prosthetic nipples from Terri this week.
How do you cope with news of tragedies? Karin offers some advice in her latest post.
I learned lots of new things about Ilene this week as she responds to an award for her blog.

Finally this week, in honor of St Patrick’s Day today, I offer all my friends a blessing from the book Anam Cara – Spiritual Wisdom from a Celtic World by the wonderful Irish poet John O’Donohue. Beannacht, which is the title of this poem comes from a Gaelic word meaning, “benediction, blessing”.
And so ….
may a slow
Wind work these words
Of love around you,
An invisible cloak
To mind your life.
Until next week,
Beannachtaí na Féile Padraig daoibh go leir (Happy St Patrick’s Day).
Yours with much love always,
Marie xxx
Thanks so much for featuring my post this week!
