Weekly Round-Up

Time for this week’s round-up of the best of the blog posts which I’ve read over the past week. These are the posts that have moved me, taught me something, inspired me, and which I’ve wanted to share with you. Don’t forget if you have written a post which you would like readers to see, just leave a comment below

I shy away from commenting on American politics on the blog. It’s not that I don’t have opinions, but I don’t feel it’s my place to comment on a country I don’t live in. But many of the people I care deeply about live there, and I know things are difficult for you right now.  Elizabeth‘s latest post concerns immigration laws.

With the unusually warm weather we have been having in Ireland – and even though it’s summer that doesn’t usually mean Irish weather gets the memo – Catherine has been experiencing a flare-up of lymphoedema.

A post from Dee this week on healing, hope and survivorship.

If you missed the #GenCSM Twitter chat with @23andMeResearch you can catch up with the transcript on Amy‘s blog.

Karin is dealing with a local recurrence of her breast cancer and the news that her dog also has cancer.

In a previous blog, Terri looked at the pre and post-operative assessment of seromas after breast reconstruction. In her latest post, she shares a video with Drs. Minas Chrysopoulo and Ramon Garza III of PRMA explaining how to evaluate and treat a seroma if it occurs after breast reconstruction.

Practical tips for preparing for a hospital stay this week on both Ann Marie‘s and Carolyn‘s blogs and advice from Barbara on insurance approvals for cancer-related tests.

Stephanie shares thoughts on how to tell if your emotional healing is happening.

Connie looks back on the eighteen years since her diagnosis of breast cancer and reflects on what a cancerversary means.

Sobering posts from both Beth and Jen on the damaging side-effects of radiation treatment. See also Nancy‘s blog where readers share their radiotherapy experiences.

Becky updates us on what’s been going on for her lately.

Looking for a new adventure? Check out A Fresh Chapter’s India Odyssey Program – now taking applications.

Finally this week, I leave you with a lovely reminder from Lisa Valentine to relish surprises – even little ones.

“The smallest surprise, received gratefully, yields a harvest of delight.”

Until next week

Yours with much love and gratitude always
