Repost Yourself
What was your favourite blog post this year? Is there a particular post you have written during this past year you would like more people to read?
Now here’s your chance!
Simply put the link to your favourite post from 2016 in the comments section below. It doesn’t have to be a health or cancer related post – this is open to everyone. If you don’t have a blog of your own, then why not leave a link to a post that you especially liked from someone else over the past year. And feel free to let others know they can promote their work here too.
You can also tag me @JBBC on Twitter using the hashtag #repost2016 and I will create some Twitter Moments from your links.
Let’s share the love. Get posting your most inspirational, educational, funniest, best posts from 2016.
In 2016, I did a project dealing with the correlation between SNPs and ER Positive breast cancer: https://heatherroberts.blog/2016/05/15/how-snps-correlate-with-erp-cancer/
In 2o15, I wrote about my mom’s battle with this cancer: https://heatherroberts.blog/2015/11/30/the-battle-never-ends/

I’ve decided to repost a poem I wrote last month. It’s not about health of cancer but it’s about how blindsided I have been due to some political events in the U.K and US. I saw this map which was the opposite of our normal view of the world and that seemed to me to be a perfect analogy for how I was feeling. http://audreybirt.blogspot.co.uk/2016/11/universal-corrective-my-poem-for-world.html
Do share your thoughts! A happy and healthy 2017 to you all. I hope to approach this big year by trying to be the change I want to see in the world.

Hello, my name is Amy Schnitzler and I’m 27 years old recently diagnosed with metastatic disease. I’m sharing a post I wrote, not specifically about cancer, tho cancer is certainly relevant. This post actually pertains to commorbidiy with mental health issues, which make dealing with the cancer even more difficult in many ways. I’m sharing this because I know I’m not the only person out there who is dealing with mental illness alongside cancer. Cancer rips the floor from underneath you. If that floor was shaky to begin with due to issues like depression, bi-polar disorder, eating disorders, anxiety, general self loathing… the cancer journey is colored somehow differently. I want those who struggle in this manner to know they’re not alone. The mind is a powerful tool in the facilitation of healing. To those of you struggling with cancer and mental illness, or either issue in isolation, I believe in your power to overcome.

Happy to meet you too! I so enjoy your weekly roundups! How lovely to have a space for different women’s perspectives on different aspects of this all-encompassing disease. I look forward to your posts!

We have so many wonderful contributors, it’s difficult to find just one. If I could, let me share three that seem to have touched a lot of people:
1. The first is a very heart felt piece on how it feels to go from a health care professional, to a patient: http://bit.ly/2fdNZmo
2. The second is a poem that personally moves me every time I read it: http://bit.ly/2gqRYju
We’ll be reading this book in our upcoming October #CancerBookClub
3. Finally, in honor of everyone who blogs: The Blogging Community where we look at cancer topics that transcend any one cancer, and are common to all of us http://bit.ly/2eUVYVY
I hope these pieces touch you, as they did me. Happy New Year to everyone, with wishes for good health in 2017.

Thank You, Marie, for opening your supportive space for others to share their heartfelt writing! I thought to share my end-of-2016 blog with your community as I tried to offer a voice of hope for both patients and their care partners: https://www.patientpower.info/blog/patient-power/2016/12/22/welcoming-the-new-year-with-hope/ Happy and Healthy New Year to all! I just finished the first #hcsmAFRICA blogpost today for medical education in Africa. It’s not quite finished, but it’s the start of something good I think for our continent, which is something we could all celebrate in 2017. Thanks for this Marie. 🙂 https://hcsmafricablog.wordpress.com

Thank you for this great idea, Marie! I like a few, but if I had to choose one, it would be this one: https://thesmallc.com/2016/02/20/i-let-her-decide/. Because I wish to let ‘her’ decide more frequently in 2017.
Wishing you a healthy and happy New Year!

Difficult choice for me but I do like this simple (but I believe powerful) awareness message for condition. The graphic is one of those reverse psychology messages which seems to have worked. It has become the most tweeted Neuroendocrine Cancer post on twitter EVER! https://ronnyallan.com/2016/01/26/neuroendocrine-cancer-doesnt-care-if-you-ignore-this-post/ thanks for alerting me to this, great idea!

I re-post the announcement of the two tweets that tied for favorite tweet in our inaugural #breastcancerrealitycheck twitter storm, Oct 1, 2016 (hopefully first of many). Again I congratulate recipients @cattyfizzle and @uneasykt for writing those tweets. My biggest and warmest thanks to partners in crime: @barbieslosingit, @bccww, and @abcdiagnosis–and of course those we enlisted to help us select the favorites tweets: @stickit2stage4, @itsthebunk and @deedeesmiles4u. Thanks to all for their advocacy.

Hello Marie and Happy Holidays to you! Thanks for this invitation (and thanks to your readers for the resulting contributions, which will make for excellent New Year’s Day reading for many of us!)
This has been a strange year for me, blog-wise. I’ve been able to write only a handful of original posts this year because I’ve been working on another big project since January; instead, each week I’ve been rerunning a favourite from my archived collection of 600+ articles.
One of the few originals I loved writing this past year was based on a story told to me by a woman who facilitates a support group for female heart patients. Her theme of the classic women’s Type E Personality (“Everything To Everybody”) may sound familiar to your readers next time they’re tempted to put everybody else’s needs ahead of their own. It’s called: “Can’t Go To My Support Group Meeting Because My Husband’s Expecting Dinner” – https://myheartsisters.org/2016/11/13/hubby-expecting-dinner/
