Time for this week’s round-up of the best of the blog posts which I’ve read over the past week. These are the posts that have moved me, taught me something, inspired me, and which I’ve wanted to share with you. Don’t forget if you have written a post which you would like readers to see, just leave a comment below.

“We’ve barely had time to dip our collective toe into September and the just like the Christmas decorations we see way ahead of schedule, it seems the Pink ooze that is October has already begun” so begins Susan‘s latest blog post as we gear up for the coming Pinktober onslaught.  She continues:

Breast cancer is the ONLY disease that is sexualized and trivialize. It’s the ONLY illness that is treated like a sorority, where you’re literally welcomed in by others. Do men go around wearing a jock on the outside of their clothes in the name of ‘awareness’ for testicular cancer? Do they wear a strap on to to bring awareness to the CAUSE of penile cancer? Nope…because it’s ridiculous.

Beth takes issue with the sexualization of breast cancer and “No Bra Day”. In the same vein read the latest posts by Kimberly and Wendi.

A poignant tribute by Darryle on what should have been her Mom’s 90th birthday.  Equally poignant and moving is Liza‘s latest post on grief and loss.

Chris tackles the subject of cancer discrimination on his blog this week.

What is your #REASON2STANDUP to cancer? Terri shares hers this week.

Oliver shares a report on the use of Tamoxifen to treat male breast cancer.

September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and Amy shares the story of how, Gene Wilder turned his grief over the death of his third wife, comedian Gilda Radner, into action around ovarian cancer through co-founding  Gilda’s Club.

Some unexpected news prompts an unexpected reaction in Ann Silberman.

Uzma offers words of hope to the “one in eight”.

I can definitely identify with Caroline‘s latest post on paying the price for over-doing things and Fiona‘s on “coping”.

Lisa shares research she recently learned about metastatic breast cancer.

Philippa returns to her new life in South Africa, after some set-backs on the journey back.

Happy blogoversary to Nancy – her blog has just turned six!

A lovely celebratory post by Elizabeth as her daughter turns eighteen.

Rebecca tantalises us by sharing the beginnings of an adventure story – looking forward to tuning in for the next instalment!

Finally this week, I leave you with a quote from Deb Ragosta, words to carry into another week of living and loving.

May you realize that even in your darkest moments, something wonderful and amazing can happen that will change your life and remind you to never stop living for those rays of light that will take away the dark.

Until next week,

Yours with love
