Weekly Round Up
Time for this week’s round-up of the best of the blog posts which I’ve read over the past week. These are the posts that have moved me, taught me something, inspired me, and which I’ve wanted to share with you. Don’t forget if you have written a post which you would like readers to see, just leave a comment below.
A warm welcome back to the blogosphere to Jen and Lara this week.
Caroline‘s family dramas sadly hit a chord with me.
In her latest post, Becky writes about scanxiety.
Really cool post by Catherine on her first eleven jobs – got me thinking of my own varied career trajectory over the years.
Claudia reviews Nancy Stordahl’s latest book.
Philippa shares words and images with us to mark her most recent birthday.
Rebecca shares the story behind holding on to her “dumb phone”
A timely reminder by Beth to practise more self-love and self-care.
Bittersweet thoughts on Nancy‘s blog this week.
Loved Fiona‘s latest blog on “dangerous women” – made me think of many BC activists I know!
Powerful post by Justine on the tough moral and ethical issues when it comes to dealing with infertility.
Kimberly posts on that familiar theme in cancerland – those stupid things people say.
Terri features a guest post by Cinde on how her advocacy positively impacts women in Karunga, Tanzania.
Kudos to Carolyn for writing Being sick doesn’t excuse being a jerk – great post and I fully agree with your points.
Super post by Isabel on the true meaning of patient-centered care.
Jo writes about enjoying the normality of returning to work.
Check out part two of Wendi‘s musing on the cancer disease olympics.
Finally this week, Beth Caldwell shares the sad news that Lulu @LuluChange has died from metastatic breast cancer. She writes:
When I think of Lulu, I’ll always remember her as deeply committed to changing the world of MBC, and refusing to let people paint a rosy picture of breast cancer. Twitter seems an emptier world without her.
Until next week,
Yours with love
Marie xxx

Thanks so much Marie for this wonderful list (I call it my weekend ‘Must Read’ list!) and also for including my “Being a Jerk” post. As I expected, my blog readers’ comments range from “I agree” to defending their own disrespectful behaviours towards docs/nurses because of how their healthcare providers had treated them. As I mentioned in the post, disrespect goes both ways…
