Weekly Round Up: All You Need Is Love?
Time for this week’s round-up of the best of the blog posts which I’ve read over the past week. These are the posts that have moved me, taught me something, inspired me, and which I’ve wanted to share with you. Don’t forget if you have written a post which you would like readers to see, just leave a comment below.
Another week; another controversy. This time it is the turn of the American Cancer Society and their frankly bizarre All You Need Is Love campaign. Both Cancer Curmudgeon and Kimberly take up the issue on their blogs.
This week we marked World Cancer Day. Deanna, Terri, Seasoned Sistah, Tric and Sally shared their thoughts on the day.
AnneMarie educates us on the issues surrounding generic drugs – it was certainly an eye-opener for me; Lisa and Elaine share information on the much-talked-of new blood test for cancer and Margaret has important information on osteoporosis.
A call to truth and compassion on Elizabeth’s blog.
An interesting post by Kathi on how those on the outside of cancer portray us.
Elissa is pondering variables and unknowns in her own treatment journey.
Remembering Rachel, one of the founders of the Breast Cancer Consortium and someone who left an indelible impression on many of us in the blogosphere.
A comprehensive and frank discussion on Becki’s blog on the topic of mental health and cancer.
Helen has started a Facebook group for those with Radiation Induced Lumbar Plexopathy and their carers.
A very honest post by Rebecca this week about families and genes.
Chris writes about maintaining hope through life.
JoAnn pays tribute to her Aunt Anna who died from breast cancer.
As an intermittent insomniac I appreciated Becky‘s post on sleep – or lack thereof – this week.
Caroline is settling into her new home.
Nancy is motivating us all to get moving.
So many of us love writing, but if like me you don’t always prioritize time for writing, you may find inspiration in Philippa’s latest post; I sure did.
Audrey celebrated a special birthday this week.
Stacey has been reflecting on family secrets and bringing up her sons.
Vickie has had a marathon week of scans and shares her results in her latest blog post.
Ann shares some sweet words with us.
It’s a worrying time for Susan as she awaits the results of a scan.
A reminder from Yvonne on World Cancer Day of the impact cancer has on family and loved ones; some honest and practical advice
Catherine has a lot on her plate these days, but sensibly she has been resting up for what is to come.
A sobering list from Eileen on the aftermath of cancer in our lives. As companion pieces read Jenny‘s, Beth‘s and Tracy‘s vivid descriptions of cancer.
Finally this week, I leave you with a quote from Justine’s blog to see us through another week.
Until next week,
Yours with love
Marie xxx

Quite a week! Thanks for the inclusion, Marie. Mostly, for me, this week is about remembering Rachel and Susan Neibur. It’s still astonishing that we lost them both on the same day. <3, Kathi
