Weekly Round Up: The New Year Edition
Time for this week’s round-up of the best of the blog posts which I’ve read over the past week. These are the posts that have moved me, taught me something, inspired me, and which I’ve wanted to share with you. Don’t forget if you have written a post which you would like readers to see, just leave a comment below.
Welcome to the first round-up of a new year! A time of resolutions and looking forward. As Uzma writes: “Although it is nothing more than a mere change of date on the calendar, it gives everyone a little nudge for introspection and self-reflection”.
Becky writes of goals not resolutions; Detrice is focussing on being a good mother; Chris faces the new year with hope and optimism; Rebecca eschews resolutions; Deb chooses gratitude as her resolution; Alison has written a new year’s poem; Jackie reminds us not to waste time in living life to the full; Yvonne writes lyrically and eloquently about the past and the future; and Catherine reflects on New Year’s past, present and future:
Each year is a surprise, and sometimes you have moments that stick in your mind in the best possible ways, and will always feel like only yesterday. May 2016 have many of these moments for you, for us, for everyone. Even when it gets hard, and damn it – it will get hard, even when that happens, may we think back to ‘only yesterday’ and use those moments to fuel us towards the future.
Over the past few years, many of you have chosen to adopt three words to guide the year ahead. I am delighted to see some of you are keeping this exercise alive. Beth has chosen mindfulness, uncertainty, and courage
A beautiful blog post by Audrey on owning our story.
Caroline‘s new year’s move has been delayed and it is causing much stress for her.
Liz writes a full and frank account of undergoing a mastectomy.
Kathi writes a tribute to friendship, sharing memories of the beautiful Carolyn Frayn (do also read Stacey‘s post on Carolyn’s passing).
Margaret shares some gentle exercise tips you can do in bed.
Susan shares news about the first A4BC San Antonio Breast Cancer Conference scholarship recipients.
Eileen has written a wonderfully honest blog post about the realities of life – reading it inspired and moved me in equal parts.
Finally this week, please take some time to read AnnMarie’s heart-felt plea to help a friend in need.
Let’s resolve to be kinder and more compassionate to each other in the year ahead.
Until next week,
Yours with love

Thanks, Marie. Our hearts do get shattered over and over, don’t they? I was just thinking, how many holidays has breast cancer ruined this past year? Oy. Bless you, friend, and all of us in the coming year. Kathi
