Weekly Round Up: The Thanksgiving Edition

girl_with_lassoTime for this week’s round-up of the best of the blog posts which I’ve read over the past week. These are the posts that have moved me, taught me something, inspired me, and which I’ve wanted to share with you. Don’t forget if you have written a post which you would like readers to see, just leave a comment below.

Thanksgiving weekend and gratitude forms a theme in many of your blogs.  A poem on gratitude by Debra Parry; a beautiful reflection by Elizabeth on her 50th birthday; Yvonne shares thoughts on celebrating Thanksgiving as an Irish woman in the US; Sharon is grateful for her inner strength and both Nancy and the  Cancer Curmudgeon have written about the complexities of gratitude (see also Detrice‘s latest blog).

More thanksgiving posts from Wendy,  Tric,  RosemaryBrandi and Carrie.

Of course Thanksgiving and the holidays aren’t always easy, as Chelsea‘s latest blog testifies to – and  Rebecca is thinking of those who find the Holidays a challenge.

November is National Family Caregivers Month and Beth takes some time to praise the medical team who were her caregivers during treatment.

Tracy captures the never-ending story that is breast cancer in “Scar Tissue, Tattoos, And Are We There Yet?”

Liz has finished chemotherapy and is wondering what comes next.

A thoughtful blog by Jen Baker on practising recovery.

A great question from Jo this week – do we really need another online health community?

Beth Caldwell writes about the frustrations of chemo-brain.

Bev shares thoughts on friendship.

Helen continues to provide the latest information on managing lymphoedema on her blog, while Becky attempts to separate lymphoedema fact from fiction on hers.

I wish I had known what Ann so eloquently writes about loss of appetite in Stage IV cancer when my mother was ill. We were so frustrated that she wouldn’t eat and tried everything to tempt her appetite. Reading’s Ann’s latest blog it all became clear to me that it wasn’t that she wouldn’t eat, but that she couldn’t. I feel desperately sad I didn’t realize what was going on with her during her final months.

Susan is a proud momma.

Sarah shares powerful images of breast cancer surgery on her blog this week and the ABC blog has information on breast reconstruction options after mastectomy.

Terrific article from Elaine on the price of cancer drugs.

Lulu reflects on how many times she has cheated death in the past.

Have you head of the “spoon theory”? Both Mandi and Caroline explains what it means.

I defy you not to read Anna’s latest blog and weep as I did when reading it.

I always appreciate Lisa‘s round-up of cancer news and this week she has gathered together a Fall collection worth reading.

Audrey reminds us how compassion and care for others can transform the human experience.

Finally this week, join with me in sending loving, healing thoughts The Pink Underbelly’s way as she recovers from knee surgery.

Until next week,

Yours with love
