Weekly Round Up: Life Is Precious Edition

Time for this week’s round-up of the best of the blog posts which I’ve read over the past week. These are the posts that have moved me, taught me something, inspired me, and which I’ve wanted to share with you. I’ve been reminded of the preciousness and the fragility of life this week, prompted by the shock death of JoJo (aka the Malignant Ginger), a young woman with breast cancer, who had just turned 32. Sarah, Rebecca, Miranda, Le Amazzoni Furiose, A Little Earthquake and Rosie have all written tributes to her on their respective blogs.

Other reminders of life’s preciousness  struck me as as I read Jen‘s blog, Laurel‘s life-affirming  words, Tracy‘s quoting of a Coleridge poem, Corrie‘s tribute to her friend Lauren, and Eileen‘s marking of her five-year cancerversary and

Because life is so precious and fragile, we really ought to remember to be kinder to each other; so I was touched by Elizabeth‘s story of kindness shown by her barista, the aptly named Angel.

Life is at once beautiful, intense, joyful, tragic, gutting. Life is poignant, pathetic, depressing, inspiring, revered. Life is heart-rending and heartfelt… infinite vessels of our humanity contain each desire to embrace, to reach further, to hold on, to soar.
