World Book Day And A Giveaway #WBD2015
It seems there’s always a world day for something these days, but here’s one that makes me happy. Today is World Book Day, and as an avid reader it’s something worth celebrating. To mark the day, I’ve decided to give away a copy of one of the books which helped me through some difficult times in my own life – Pema Chödrön, Start Where You Are: A Guide To Compassionate Living. To win the book, just leave a comment below about what reading means to you, and/or why you would like to receive a copy of this book. The winner will be picked at random at the end of today and notified via the JBBC Facebook page. Looking forward to hearing from you!
What a lovely idea. I love Pema Chodron’s writings and winning this book would really make my day.

(Sorry comment sent before I had finished it) of benefit to me after reading synopsis of the book especially after reading up on BC, treatments and so on at the time, it’s often as years have gone on that the other side of BC raises it head and the difficulties it brings with it. I think this book may help me out in many ways

You are so kind, Marie! Words are wonderful in moving the mind toward healing. That’s why I started blogging after my BC diagnosis.
Last month, a close friend of mine was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, so I’ve been on the lookout for books that will help her now — as well as later too.

Such a nice idea Marie. We could all do with showing ourselves as well as others more compassion in this life.

I love to read. When I was a child, I read everything I could get my hands on. When my parents went places, books came with me. I read because I was deaf, and could not join in and talk to people easily. When I ran out of books to read, I started writing my own (and I am thankful my childish scribbles are lost to time, so bad!) I love to read, and to pass on and share what I love with others who I feel a story might resonate with.
