Ha! Thank you Marie, your call for reposts made me go back and read my own blog posts – how far I’ve come. Love it!
I’ve written a lot this year and cancer – my mother’s and my own – was indeed the catalyst.
Most of what I’ve written has been part of my personal story but this post was written for those who may not know what to say to a woman who has gone through or is preparing to go through a mastectomy.

Hi Marie,
Thanks for this opportunity.
Two posts about advocacy. The first one is almost a year old. It was about my mom’s diagnosis of metastatic disease:

The other-a post about how my attempt at advocacy on behalf of a mental illness patient was confounded at many turns:

Marie, Thank you so much for this opportunity! I love your space here and I’m learning so much as a new blogger from you. It honestly is difficult to narrow it down to my favorite or what I think has been the most powerful as this entire process has been so overwhelming, in a great way. My post today was tough but so important (http://jlbf4.wordpress.com/2013/12/30/shame-died-a-little-bit-more-truth-telling-my-authentic-light/). My loved ones and feedback was strong on both Making Room for the Light (http://jlbf4.wordpress.com/2013/12/19/making-room-for-the-light/) and Thriving Not Just Surviving (http://jlbf4.wordpress.com/2013/11/17/thriving-and-not-just-surviving/).
I struggled to chose just one, so my breakdown: important and educating-Shame Died a Little Bit, most powerful-Making Room for the Light, and most inspirational-Thriving Not Just Surviving.
Thank you again! Happy New Year! Justine

This is such a great idea, Marie, though I am struggling to pick out one post as I find writing so cathartic and helpful as a process and the blog posts are part of that critical process.
I guess that for me there are three posts which stand out as ones which I needed to write and which seemed to resonate with others. I wrote a very quick rant which showed me how powerful the internet is, as it became viral and had more visits in 3 days than the blog had had in the whole of 2010! Another is the recent post about appearance, judgement and image, which was very difficult to write but even more difficult to live. But the post which I have finally selected, is one which is connected to the post about appearance and discusses the impact that cancer has and the “sides” and “afters” of treatment. I have found that this year and a switch in meds has really impacted on daily living and this was the subject of “Thanks but no thanks, cancer” http://feistybluegeckofightsback.wordpress.com/2013/06/23/thanks-but-no-thanks-cancer/
Losing my father this year, I have also written my way through grieving, but find those posts difficult to highlight……
What a year it has been, so tough in many ways. Wishing everyone a 2014 of health, happiness and smiles.

Thanks for this, Marie. I think the post that I think about most often is “In Which I Don’t Tell People What to Say” (http://wp.me/p2CLwB-SI). Being in the cross hairs of cancer, we forget that people say things with the very best of intentions and have no idea (thank God!) of what it’s like on the inside. It’s just a plea for some tolerance and understanding (not excusing comments made by wholly ignorant or abusive people). Happy 2014 everyone.
