Weekly Round Up

girl_with_lassoTime for this week’s round-up of the best of the blog posts which I’ve read over the past week. These are the posts that have moved me, taught me something, inspired me, and which I’ve wanted to share with you.

Last week I was in Italy for my brother’s wedding, so I missed putting the round-up together, but I am back on home turf again and catching up on all your blogs (please do let me know if I have missed out on something you wrote during the past week).

First stop –  Chris’ Cancer Community blog where he has been writing about my favourite topic – finding cancer support online. And what a lovely surprise to see our dear friend Karen’s powerful words underlining the importance of this kind of support. As a companion piece to Chris’ blog, read Nancy’s Point on what blogging means to her – and while you are there, do wish her a happy blogoversary. And as a counter-balance read Carolyn Thomas’ cautionary warnings about the less than ethical practices of some online patient support groups.

Next stop, Philippa’s blog for a guest post by Catherine  Brunelle about her new novel –  and please don’t forget to support Catherine’s kickstarter campaign to get the book out there! And speaking of books… Tami has announced on her blog that she has a second book on the way this fall. Congratulations!

I stopped off at Elizabeth’s blog to find so many wonderful posts have been created since I last visited – too many to single out just one this week.

Delighted to see that Lauren has come back to the blogosphere and that my friend Susan has also been blogging on some great themes on her Advocates For Breast Cancer blog.

Raising awareness of the facts of lung cancer, The Frog List is a must read on Dr KD Hoffman’s blog.

I learned a new phrase from Lisa – “vague blogging” – if you are curious to find out what it means, click here.

Both Renn and Beth are focussing on gratitude for the things that cancer has brought about in her life.

Each week I like to leave you with a quote to take us into the week to come and so this week, I am sharing a quote from Audrey’s blog:

Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about.  Be kind. Always.

Until next week.

Yours in love and compassion for all the battles we fight,

Marie xxx
