I felt lucky to stumble upon Mags’ Blog from its inception. She is so talented in illustrating. I love her unique way of sharing the experience and am so glad you chose to share it, Marie.
Brilliant cartoon. Thanks for passing it along, Marie.
I love where it debunks the “losing weight” side effect. Among my friends who also went through chemo we are all over the map. I know someone who gained, another who lost and I stayed stable. The tamoxifen, however, definitely provoked weight gain.
Thank you for bringing Mag’s Blog to our attention. It’s great the way she puts her words to pictures. I also appreciated the weight comment about chemo. I lost too much weight because the chemo made me so ill. I still got sick on all the medications that were supposed to help and it took me years to get my body back to normal.
Yes Susan, I was one of those who lost a lot of weight too because I was so awfully sick with the chemo drugs – but in my case, the weight is all back on again – and now the struggle is keeping it off!
Happy to have found this – diagnosed April 12, stage 2 w/ lymph node involvement, bilateral mastectomy w/ immediate reconstruction, just had 2nd chemo – 6 more to go
". . .and the world cannot be discovered by a journey of miles, no matter how long, but only by a spiritual journey, a journey of one inch, very arduous and humbling and JOYFUL, by which we arrive at the ground at our own feet, and learn to be at home."
