Join me for the Anna Livia Mile
The Anna Livia Mile takes place on Breast Health Day, Saturday 15th October in central Dublin at 11am.
The walk starts on the riverside at The O2, North Wall Quay and ends at the Grand Canal Dock, where the Plurabelle Paddlers, Dragon Boat Team, will meet the walkers at the home of the Dragon Boats and you will have a chance to try your paddling skills!
This day is not about fundraising, it’s about awareness raising about the lifestyle choices, such as exercise, that can influence your future breast health and help prevent breast cancer.
So don your walking shoes and join me on the 15th.
Hope to see you there!
About Breast Health Day
EUROPA DONNA – The European Breast Cancer Coalition holds Breast Health Day on 15 October to disseminate information about breast health and to raise awareness of prevention and early detection of breast cancer among women and girls across Europe.
This year’s campaign features a unique new video that will engage women from around the world. By adding your picture here you can be part of this exciting video that will be released on YouTube on 15 October.
Organise Your Own Breast Health Event
If you can’t join us for the Anna Livia Mile, why not organise your own event. Europa Donna Ireland is inviting women and groups throughout Ireland to organise an awareness raising event involving some form of enjoyable physical activity on the 15th October.
Walking is one of the simplest and easiest to organise, but any physical activity e.g. cycling, hiking, swimming or jogging will help get the message across that exercise is fun and good for you too. Or perhaps you could try something different-last year we had a belly-dancing and also a conga line group!
Contact Europa Donna Ireland to find out more information on how to help women in your community to get started to protect their breast health.
