Time for this week’s round-up of the best of the blog posts which I’ve read over the past week. These are the posts that have moved me, taught me something, inspired me, and which I’ve wanted to share with you. Just click on the highlighted links to read the posts.
I want to start off this week’s round-up with a funny, compassionate and thoughtful post on dealing with our changing body image post cancer.
Chemobabe is continuing the discussion of living with mets, the fear of mets, and supporting each other on the journey in her latest blog post, which sparked off a lively Twitter debate this week.
I mentioned recently how Brenda Coffee is dealing with the loss of her beloved husband, James, and this week she has written a very moving post on surviving grief.
All of the above blogs have something in common – telling personal stories of our journeys through loss, grief, confusion, sadness, and sometimes joy. This is a topic I find endlessly fascinating, so it was wonderful to read Uneasy Pink’s latest thoughts on Illness Narratives this week.
Often how we get through all of this is by walking with others on our journey and Susan’s Special Needs cites a recent study which finds that breast cancer patients with a strong social network live longer.
Finally, let me leave you with this post – a reminder of the importance of finding that still, quiet place within, where you can find healing and renew your strength.
Wishing you all peace, healing and joy this day and always.
