well, my dear Marie, you know I I feel about “light”. it’s completely miraculous that we can be ravaged by life’s random hits that knock us to the ground wounded and sobbing, by the reels of thoughts and fears and what if’s that turn round and round in our heads, by feelings of helplessness for ourselves and for others, and have hope, energy, and the will to go on sucked right out of us -but just let a shiny beam of light come our way, or get sent out into the universe, aimed directly to the heart of one we care for so deeply, and we are suddenly renewed and in an instant can feel the warmth of love, new hope, compassion, renewed resolve and the gift of gratitude. we can dispense it like golden confetti, and we can capture it and hold it like a life line – and no matter what, just like love, there will always be enough to go around.
so to you, Marie, and all your wonderful Readers , I send you all…
". . .and the world cannot be discovered by a journey of miles, no matter how long, but only by a spiritual journey, a journey of one inch, very arduous and humbling and JOYFUL, by which we arrive at the ground at our own feet, and learn to be at home."
Wendell Berry
Very apt quote today as Manela is laid to rest

It’s so true. Shining our light helps others; it doesn’t hinder them.
